This is a merging of the newly acquired Lost Tapes, the Tobydog tape has been mostly replaced and the lost 15 minutes have finally been restored. This episode featured the world premier of songs you for sure have heard many, many times. Adam continues his rant about prisoners getting married and fathering children from behind bars and later goes off on people with low level jobs who relish the small amount of power they posses and use it to hassle anyone that comes into contact with them. This is Steve’s 3rd appearance on CLL, he was previously on CLL #509 and CLL #774. Steve/Smash Mouth only have two more appearances, the band return in June of 1999 and then again in 2001.
From Wiki: Smash Mouth is an American rock band from San Jose, California. The band was formed in 1994,[1] and was originally composed of Steve Harwell (vocals), Kevin Coleman (drums), Greg Camp (guitar), and Paul De Lisle (bass). They are known for songs such as “Walkin’ on the Sun” (1997), “All Star” (1999), and a cover of The Monkees‘ “I’m a Believer” (2001), the latter two of which were featured on the soundtrack for the animated film Shrek.
The band adopted retro styles covering several decades of popular music. They have also performed numerous covers of popular songs, including War‘s “Why Can’t We Be Friends?“, Simple Minds‘ “Don’t You (Forget About Me)“, Question Mark & the Mysterians‘s “Can’t Get Enough of You Baby“, The Beatles‘ “Getting Better“, and “I Wan’na Be Like You” from Walt Disney Pictures‘ The Jungle Book.
