GLL Episode 190
CLL #190 (feat. Orbital and Primitive Radio Gods)
06/20/1996 – Thursday Night Show
Source – Lost Tape VHS (2013)
This episode is 100% complete. It was first shared 7 years ago in the previous CLL feed, I now have finally been able to remaster it and release it as it was always meant to be heard. Both bands are making their only know appearances on CLL.
From Wiki: Orbital are an English electronic dance music duo from Sevenoaks, Kent, England, consisting of brothers Phil and Paul Hartnoll. The band’s name is taken from Greater London‘s orbital motorway, the M25, which was central to the early rave scene and party network in the South East during the early days of acid house.[1] In addition, the cover art on three of their albums shows stylised atomic orbitals. Orbital have been both critically and commercially successful and known particularly for their element of live improvisation during shows. They were initially influenced by early electro and punk rock.
From Wiki: Primitive Radio Gods is an American alternative rock band from Southern California. Current members consist of frontman Chris O’Connor, who performs vocals and bass; percussionist Tim Lauterio; and Luke McAuliffe, who contributes various additional instrumentation (guitars, violins, piano) as well as much of the art that has appeared on the band’s albums and website. Former member Jeff Sparks wrote, sang, and played bass before leaving the band to pursue other music projects in 2001.
The band is best known for their 1996 hit “Standing Outside a Broken Phone Booth with Money in My Hand“,[1] which peaked No. 1 on the Billboard Modern Rock chart.
